I've been there before...

Growing up, I was raised in an Italian household where pasta, cheese, bread and olive oil were frequent staples in my diet and there was no such thing as portion control. So, like many others, I struggled with my weight and body image all throughout my childhood.

I first realized I was overweight in middle school. I was bullied relentlessly for my size and, over time, I began to absolutely hate my body. In high school, I fell into every “crash diet” and weight loss trap there was out there. I let others dictate my self-worth, and felt like I wasn’t in control of my own life. When I started my first year of university, I weighed close to 200 pounds. I realized that I had missed out on so many opportunities and felt like my weight was holding me back from living my best life

So, I made it my mission to lose weight.

I began my fitness journey knowing absolutely NOTHING about my body. I didn’t feel comfortable going to a gym, so I began by drastically reducing my calorie intake and experimenting with whatever home workouts I could find online. After six months, I had dropped about 30 pounds - and it felt amazing! But then, I hit a plateau. Frustrated, I tried to compensate by doing more cardio and eating less. I was stuck in a sick cycle that was leaving me feeling completely lost, exhausted and overwhelmed. (Sound familiar?)

 

Truthfully, I still didn’t understand how to live a healthy lifestyle. I thought that restrictive eating and lots of cardio would help me lose weight. Boy, was I wrong! What I didn’t realize at the time was that I was unknowingly fostering an even more unhealthy relationship with food and exercise.

 

I eventually realized that wellness is twofold - and although I was transforming my body, I still needed to transform my mind.

 

Over the past 6 years, I’ve immersed myself in countless fitness programs, nutrition courses, YouTube videos and other health-related articles & journals in order to fully educate myself about WHY the body works in the way it does. I slowly became more knowledgeable about fitness and health. I finally understood why certain foods work the way they do, how different styles of exercise promote different results, and I just kept wanting to know more. So, naturally, I became a Certified Personal Trainer (CPT).

 

Throughout my journey, I realized that I didn’t need all the fancy equipment, the fad diets or the hours spent in the gym to get the results I truly wanted. I learned that I was completely able to eat all the foods I LOVED, with simple tweaks to ensure they were nourishing my body from the inside out. What’s more, is that I realized that I could have learned all of these lessons and transformed my body a lot sooner if I had just allowed myself to be mentored by someone who had been through the same journey.

The workbook is filled with countless introductory resources to get you started with planning out the coming 4 weeks - including sample meal plans, suggested food lists, meal prepping tips and common fitness terminology. Here’s how the program is structured: My Stronger Ever After program will increase your training intensity and frequency EVERY WEEK for a total of 4 weeks. The program will begin with THREE (3) training sessions for about 30 mins a day and TWO (2) additional cardio sessions. Cardio sessions range from just 15 - 30 minutes. (That’s right! No need to spend hours on cardio equipment every day!)
