Maple Bacon Protein French Toast
Guys, I think I've unknowingly started (French) Toast Tuesdays! (And I'm not even sorry!) But with 36 grams of protein and only 7 grams of fat for the entire plate, this bad boy is a Canadian's macro-friendly French toast DREAM! I'll be honest, I think that when it comes to this sweet/savoury combo - you either love it or you hate it. And, well... me? I'm in LOVE!

I N G R E D I E N T S:
- 3/4 cup liquid egg whites
- 2 slices ezekiel or high-protein toast
- 2 slices @lilydalecanada turkey bacon, sliced
- 2 tbsp @coolwhip light
- pumpkin spice blend or cinnamon & stevia
D I R E C T I O N S:
lightly toast your bread before placing in a non-stick skillet over medium heatâ €
SLOWLY pour half of your egg whites over your first slice of bread (you may need to wait a few times until the bread fully soaks it all up, then continue pouring again)â €
once the first slice of bread has soaked up the egg whites, pour the rest onto your second sliceâ €
add your pumpkin spice blend or cinnamon & stevia to the tops of both slicesâ €
let both slices crisp up on the bottom before flipping (about 3-5 minutes)â €
allow the bread to toast on the bottom and fully cook the egg whites inside (the bread should start expanding as it cooks)â €
once both sides are browned and the middle is solid, lay your french toast onto a plate
cut your turkey bacon into thin strips, then throw into the same pan and allow to crisp up
sprinkle bacon bits all over your French toast
add cool whip, maple syrup & garnish with some leftover bacon bits
