This Maca Mocha Latte combines my favourite morning coffee with the benefits of Garden of Life’s new myKind Organics Maca Root Powder. It tastes just like a classic frothy café mocha that you can order at any coffee shop, but with the hidden nutrient-packed twist of maca root plus the anti-inflammatory properties of cinnamon.

A winning combo!!

What are the benefits of maca?

Maca root has a high nutritional value of iron and iodine, which are two key nutrients that support the endocrine system (primarily the thyroid) with their everyday functions - like energy, heat production and metabolism.

Maca is also rich in calcium, potassium, and amino acids, plus other vitamins, and minerals to support your muscles in recovery and your overall digestive health.

Studies have tried to prove that maca can also benefit energy levels, mood, libido and ease menopausal symptoms.

Other Variations You Can Try:

If you’re looking to minimize your caffeine intake, you can either replace it with a decaffeinated blend or nix the shot of espresso altogether and just blend together the remaining ingredients. It’ll taste a bit like a hot chocolate and is still so soothing!

If you’re looking for an alternative to maple syrup, you can try using honey, agave nectar, coconut sugar or stevia.

  • 1 shot espresso or 1tbsp instant espresso

  • 1 tsp Garden of Life’s myKind Organics Maca Root powder

  • 1 tbsp cocoa powder

  • 2 tsp maple syrup

  • 1 cup unsweetened cashew milk

Toppings (optional):

  • cinnamon


  1. Add a shot of espresso or 1 tbsp espresso powder to a clean mug. (Note: If you’re using espresso powder, you will also need to add about 1oz hot water to resemble an espresso shot.)

  2. If you have a frother: Mix the remaining ingredients into a separate vessel (I use a stainless steel milk frothing pitcher like this one, but anything that can handle heat will do) and froth until the liquid is homogenous, foamy and piping hot.

  3. If you don’t have a frother: Pour the remaining ingredients into a small saucepan and bring to a rolling boil, whisking constantly until the mixture foams up and becomes frothy.

  4. Pour your foamy maca mocha milk mixture into your mug with espresso. Top with cinnamon (if you desire) and enjoy!
