This Is How To Lose Body Fat The Healthy & Sustainable Way

Hey there, fit fam!
Ever since posting my results from my Stronger Ever After program, I’ve been receiving a LOT of questions about what fitness & nutrition tips/strategies I use to lose fat.
Here are some of my fave strategies to follow when you're looking to lose body fat the healthy way:
1. Lower Your Calories Slowly & Sustainably:
Don't drop your calories all at once! Aim to drop about 50-100 calories per week (at most), so that your body has time to adjust to the lower calorie intake and doesn't go into 'starvation mode'. This will also help to curb cravings, which will save you a lot of stress and frustration in the long run.
2. Start With Enough Calories In Your Diet
It's very important to only start a cut when you're currently eating enough calories. (Usually, you should be eating as much as your body burns per day, which is also known as your 'maintenance' calories.) If you're starting a cut with an already restricted calorie-intake, then there will be nowhere for you to go. In this case, focus on building your metabolism up first by increasing your calorie intake slightly and training consistently. Once you're eating at maintenance calories, you can start thinking about following a fat loss regime.
3. Increase Your Cardio Each Week
Don't hammer your body all at once! Instead, add in more cardio sessions slowly. Start by adding in one extra cardio session per week, and increase things from there. (PS - Make sure you're incorporating both HIIT and LISS cardio training, as both are beneficial.)
4. Spend Your Energy Wisely (Carb Cycling)
This isn't for everyone, but I LOVE “carb cycling” while trying to lose fat. Carb cycling is essentially cycling through the amount of carbs you eat per day/per week, depending on how much energy you are expending that day. This means, on days where you are MOST active, you should be eating more carbs. On days where you aren’t as active, your body doesn't need as much.
REMEMBER: Small changes to your diet & training, plus a whole LOT of consistency and positivity can make a BIG difference!
