Behind these photos lie more than just a physical transformation. Here's a bit more about what was going on in each of these photos beyond what you can see.
LEFT PHOTO: At this point in my life, I was trying to navigate all the feelings of inadequacy, of feeling "not _____ enough", after having been bullied for most of my childhood. I chose to use movies, TV and books as a way to escape from my reality and used food as an emotional crutch to hide from the fact that I didn't think I would ever be able to recover from the pain of my past.
RIGHT PHOTO: This was shortly after I had discovered that weight training had made me feel stronger, more capable and more confident than I'd ever felt before. I was finally able to come to terms with a lot of my childhood traumas and was slowly learning that I was capable of changing my situation simply by choosing to build better habits and accepting responsibility for my actions.
This is just a friendly reminder that it is 100% possible to change your circumstance. If you want to change your reality, the only person standing in your way is yourself. You just need to identify the problem, make the decision to do something about it, and go for it - no matter what.
Believe in yourself, tune out the noise, distance yourself from the people in your life who try to bring you down, surround yourself with positivity and do everything in your life as an act of SELF LOVE.
Nourish your body with love. Train with love. Learn. GROW. I promise you - you can do it. All it takes is that first step. You got this.
